Press announcement re Runwell Prison Apr 09

Runwell Parish Council are dismayed that there has been no consultation regarding the proposed new prison in Runwell to be located on the land occupied by the old Runwell hospital. The announcement on the television on Monday 27th April 2009 was the first official information received.

There will be many concerns facing our residents and we will fight
to minimize the effect on our community.

The announcement was issued by Jack Straw MP
Justice Secretary.
